TLC for your Face

I am by no means a beauty product pro – only recently I’ve developed an insane interest in facial skin care (Forever Young, amiright?)  BUT, I love what I use and I’ve decided to feature what exact facial skin care products I am most loyal to.  Skin care has developed into a top priority in my life, and I’m attempting to run AS FAST AS POSSIBLE away from fine lines and wrinkles.  Humble brag warning, I frequently am told that I look much younger than I actually am.  In my 30s, this is a WELCOME mistake.  My spirit celebrity is definitely Jennifer Aniston and I pray that I can look as good as her when I’m over 40.

Outside of  product use, protecting my face from the sun is probably my #1 priority. Now, I obviously LOVE being outdoors, so sometimes just staying out of the sun isn’t an option. So, not included in this list, but just as important, are sunscreens with SPF 50 (if out sporting) or BB/CC cream with at least SPF 20 (if out being fabulous).  ALSO, sunnies.  I mean, I would probably wear sunglasses at night too because I have a very unhealthy obsession with them, but sunglasses are a great way to protect the sensitive skin around the eyes.

So for the long awaited list (and in this case, no particular order):

Korres Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial

Korres

It took me a while to get on the night cream train. There was something that just seemed “old” to me about using a night cream.  The only people that I knew using night creams, even just five years ago, were middle aged + women. But after educating myself, I was swayed to give it a shot to help keep my skin looking young. I have tried several different creams, and so far, this is my favorite.  This cream goes on smooth and light and I wake up with my face feeling so soft and smooth.

Yes To Miracle Oil Calm & Soothe Primrose Oil Mud Mask

YesTo

I have been really lucky and mostly have good skin. However, my biggest problem is redness in my face (my cheeks and nose can sometimes look like they’ve been caught in a sandstorm).  This mud mask helps tame the redness and really soothe my skin.  This is especially helpful after an active weekend outside or any time I have been enjoying food or drink that isn’t so nice to your skin’s hydration.  I’ve only been able to find it in the individual pouches, but I never use more than half on one application, so I just save the rest in a ziploc!

Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Cottonseed

Clarins

Clarins everything.  This is their gentle foaming cleanser that is so soft and sudsy on the skin.  I also love their exfoliating cleanser as well.  I use my Clarisonic with this cleanser, but it also works so well with just your hands!  It feels so good going onto the face and helps my skin feel so refreshed!

Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores

Origins

I have a love/hate relationship with charcoal masks. BUT they make such a difference to my face, they MUST be included.  I love how they make my skin look – reducing pore size, improve dark marks on my skin.  I do not love how they feel on the skin, especially drying, but I know that is just the mask doing its due diligence. I use a charcoal mask about once a week, for skin improvement, and for entertainment as it really freaks my dog out (insert cry-laugh emoji).

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes with White Tea Extract

Everyone has lazy moments, right?  These wipes are my favorite lazy hack.  I have turned into a complete crazy person about taking my makeup off at night.  Sometimes, I’m just too tired to go through the whole wash face process.  Insert: face wipe.  These are the best I’ve found at completely taking the make up off with just one wipe and not having to “scrub” the face down.  Also, Burt’s Bees is local to NC, so extra points!
